Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use Vimo to choose a health insurance plan for my business?

To help you select the best health insurance plan for your company, Vimo will need to collect some information from you:

  1. Whom you plan to cover: How many employees does your company have and what is their average age?
  2. Where you need the coverage: What zip code is your company based in?
  3. When you need coverage: What is your ideal coverage start date?
  4. What kind of plan you're searching for. Do you want an HMO or PPO plan? Do you want a plan that is compatible with Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)? What is your ideal deductible?

After you've inputted this information, we'll locate a number of suitable plans available in your immediate area and show you their estimated monthly premiums and deductibles.

After you've isolated two plans that fit your company's desired premiums and deductibles, click the checkmark next to each plan and then "Compare" to see a side-by-side comparison of up to two plans, including details on each plan's out-of-pocket maximum, HSA compatibility, lifetime maximum and more. Select one and click "Apply" to receive personal service from a licensed health insurance broker who will help you purchase the insurance or look for another plan.

Our advice when approaching deductibles is to choose a price you can live with. Don't always go for the lowest deductible plan. You can save hundreds of dollars per month in premiums and even more in tax savings by opting for higher deductible plans that work with tax-advantaged HSAs. When a health insurance plan sells you a plan with low deductibles and lower co-pays, they have no alternative but to charge high premiums.

Most consumers forget the primary purpose of insurance - which is to help you when you are faced with catastrophic illness. Make sure that you have an out-of-pocket maximum for the year that you can live with in a crunch.
